Exporting

Export a finished map to a PNG image to drop into session notes, a document, or a virtual tabletop.

Exporting a PNG

Choose Export PNG (Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + E) and pick where to save it. Before it exports, you choose what the image includes:

  • Grid: include the hex grid, or leave it off for a clean map.
  • Coordinate labels: include the labels, or omit them.
  • Background: include the canvas background, or export with a transparent background so the map drops cleanly onto any surface.

Turn the grid and labels off if you want a finished-looking map; keep them on if you're producing a reference for play.

Large Maps

A very large or tile-heavy map takes longer to render to an image. Give it a moment on a big export.
