Coordinates & Grid
Infinihex can label every hex with a coordinate, draw a grid, and let you choose where the numbering starts.
Coordinate Labels
Labels are derived, not stored. Each one is computed from the map's origin and the labeling scheme. That means you can move the origin or change the scheme and every label updates instantly; nothing has to be re-entered.
- Toggle labels with
C, or from the Coordinates panel in the left rail. - Adjust their appearance and format in the Coordinates panel. The Format dropdown
previews each style by rendering the same sample coordinate, so you can pick the
one that matches your map at a glance:
04.02,0402,04/02, or the packed402style (column then a two-digit row, no leading zero on the column) that many printed hex maps use.
The Origin
The origin is the hex that numbering counts from. Use the Origin tool (O)
and click a hex to set it there, and every label recalculates around it. To snap the
origin back to (0, 0), press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + O.
The Grid
The grid draws the hex outlines over the map.
- Toggle the grid with
G, or from the Grid panel in the left rail. - The Grid panel adjusts how it's drawn.
Labels and the grid are display aids. They don't change the map itself, so turn them on while you work and off for a clean export (see Exporting).
